Toya , I am still thinking of you. After tragedy , so many just disappear. But not me Toya , my heart is still shattered . I still look around and think of all the adventures and opportunities you never had . Such a good girl , who only wanted to share her love

For five weeks you were abandoned along with the 487 other dogs at the Borodyanka Shelter . During that time are you constantly checked for updates as of others when the rescues could come. Finally on April 2 the volunteers got in there and removed all the survivors over the next few days . They worked tirelessly , everyday , often with no sleep , risking their life’s for all the survivors . And Toya , you were one of those . You were sent to Remember Me to be safe and find your forever family . After seeing you picture , Antonia and I became your “godparents “ . Every month we sent our donation and would ask about you . We didn’t know you were being starved . We didn’t know you were in danger . People say we should accept , it’s a big shelter and that’s what happens , that it’s a good place because others have been saved . That’s not acceptable. YOUR LIFE WAS IMPORTANT,, to me you were not expendable . I can not get over the fact you were starving and than became so hungry you finally had to try and get the smallest kibble , which resulted in your horrific death . These people who were supposed to be caring for you , instead watched you turn to a starving dog ,. This didn’t happen in one day , this has been ongoing a long time . Why wasn’t more action being taken ,? I find the posts now, which I had been begging for links too . And I see no mention of food shortages until the last couple weeks. Why when you were getting thinner and thinner , as they watched you dying , nobody came forward . I’m not the person , who just comments and doesn’t act . I post , I share , I donate , I ask questions , but when I am lied to about your conditions , I blame those in charge . None of that brings you back Toya , none if that takes away your suffering , none of that stops the tears . I believed in these people , that’s my fault

Je suis complètement d'accord avec toi Mike, je n'ai jamais imaginé que cette chienne miraculée  puisse mourir dans de telles conditions, oui sa vie était encore plus précieuse car elle avait réussi à survivre sans boire une goutte d'eau ni manger pendant 5 semaines ( apparemment les chiens léchaient les vitres pour ceux qui étaient enfermés à l'intérieur du refuge de Brorodyanka ) et là on apprend qu'elle a de nouveau été affamée. Ce n'est pas faute d'avoir demandé à ce que nos dons lui aillent et demandé des nouvelles. Elle a survécu à l'enfer de Borodyanka pour venir mourir 1 an et demi plus tard dans un autre refuge   (Photo du refuge de Borodyanka en Ukraine )

J'interviens sur cette discussion car comme je l'ai écrit sur mon message du 8 décembre dernier, TOYA est décédée dans une bagarre. Cela n'est pas prévisible.
La puce allait bien, elle n'était pas affamée (pour reprendre certaines remarques) au vue des conditions actuelles au refuge (plusieurs chiens très maigres).
Le refuge accueille actuellement près de 500 chiens, il est surpeuplé. Des bagarres éclatent. C'est dramatique mais c'est la dure réalité du refuge, en Roumanie.

Je suis d'accord avec d'autres personnes: il ne faut pas mettre sa colère envers qui que ce soit sur le poste de cette pauvre chienne.
Je le supprime donc, moi-même avant que les administrateurs le fassent...

 I think also to Toya, she was ust a number in this shelter but for us she was this little miracle who succeed to survive 5 weeks at Borodyanka without water and food, she really not deserve this horrible death, we trust these people and we were wrong ...

Toya , two weeks ago today , they told us you were killed . It still hurts so , all I can think is , we let you down . Sorry , doesn’t fix anything . I just know you deserved so much more . Toya , we truly loved you , but that wasn’t enough . In our hearts you will remain , sweetest Toya

There still are no words to stop the heartbreak. I see your pictures and all I think is how unfair , you were killed as you were . Sweet , Toya , you did nothing wrong , nothing to deserve this.

Another week has passed since you were killed Toya. The volunteers from Borydanka, were told you were safe, but it was a lie. Somehow you miraculously survived after five weeks. Then you were rescued and sent here. Antonio and I asked about you every month, and were told you were well and that you were safe. We were lied to. This time you didn’t survive. Always, in my heart Toya.
